Asiff Hussein, the author of this work, has an academic background in sociology & archaeology & has also written extensively on anthropology & linguistics. His more notable works include Sarandib. Men, Memories, Milestones with Hameed Kareem (2006) & co-edited The Muslim Heritage of Eastern Sri Lanka with S.H.M.Jameel (2011).
Hussein was awarded a B.A.Degree in Social Sciences with honors from the Open University of Sri Lanka & obtained Merit for his Post- Graduate Diploma in Archaeology conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya. He also holds a Diploma in Journalism from the Aquinas College of Higher Studies.
