W. Indrakeerthi Siriweera obtained B.A. Degree from the university of Ceylon in 1964 and Ph. D degree from the School of African and Oriental Studies, University of London in 1969. During his long university career of 43 year from 1964 to 2007, he has served as the Chairman, University Grants Commission and the Founder Vice Chancellor of the Rajarata University.
