25th December is a book versed in the form of poems expressing real suffering & emotions that arose from situations and life experiences of Amila Mendis Jayasinghe.What inspired Amila to write some poems in particular remains a mystery,it makes me believe that it was her pure talent interpreting life experiences.
The way she lived,her past,& the challenges she faced & overcame in heart,mind soul & body were an inspiration.She found a way to craft her feelings into words with meaning & live by them.
Although I am unable to enlighten or elaborate on her writing,I can assure you that you will feel her soul within the words you read here.
Why 25th December?-It was the day she breathed her last, & the day she loved the most,the day she would never fail to put up a Christmas tree on her own & ultimately the day she was unable to do so.
This book is a tribute to her dreams.A ‘tick!’ to one of the items on her ‘to-do list’,& this is my first step towards fulfilling that.
